Shroud Of Turin: Art Historian Thomas de Wesselow Explains Its Relation To The Resurrection (VIDEO)

WATCH: What The Shroud Of Turin Can Tell Us About The Birth Of Christianity

Jesus may not have risen, but an art historian thinks he knows why the apostles believed.

Thomas de Wesselow explains what the Shroud of Turin can tell us about the birth of Christianity -- and how he came to his conclusions.

Perhaps his most startling assertion is that it was the sight of the Shroud after the crucifixion, and not actually an encounter with a resurrected Christ, that made the apostles believe Jesus came back to life. In other words, the disciples mistook the image on the Shroud for the real body of Christ.
