Best-selling author Terry McMillian and ā€œCSI: NYā€ star Hill Harper are set to join activist Randall Robinson during this year’s Anguilla Literary Festival taking place May 24 through May 28.

The festive five day event, which will be hosted at the island’s Paradise Cove Resort, will celebrate various authors from the world of literature and feature an array of readings, informative workshops, empowering panel discussions and other activities. Officially dubbed as the ā€˜Anguilla Lit Fest: A Literary Jollification,’ the British Caribbean island's tourism board aims to leverage the event in an effort to inspire young aspiring writers.

ā€œLiteracy has always been of paramount importance to the people of Anguilla,ā€ Hon. Haydn Hughes, Parliamentary Secretary Tourism said in a press release."The Anguilla Literary Festival was conceived to highlight the creative mastery of celebrated authors to promote excellence in publishing while also igniting the imagination and aspirations of book enthusiasts. We look forward to kicking off this worthwhile effort celebrating the literary arts and by so doing, motivate young prospective writers to embark on a career in writing."

Sheryl Lee Ralph, Malaika Adero, Lasana Sekou and Marva Allen are also among the festival’s confirmed guests. For more info on the ā€˜Anguilla Lit Fest: A Literary Jollification’ please visit the event’s official site.
