'Shahs Of Sunset': Reza's Family Torn Apart By Religion

Reza can often be seen cracking jokes and acting outrageous on "Shahs of Sunset" (Sun., 10 p.m. ET on Bravo), but he showed a more vulnerable side this week when meeting with his father. Reza hasn't had a relationship with him in years, and learned that it all has to do with religion.

Reza's mother was Muslim while his father was Jewish. The two have since divorced, but it is because of Reza's mother that his paternal grandmother has a problem. She doesn't see Reza as Jewish. It was a heartbreaking moment for Reza, who admitted he would give up all of his wealth for a complete family.

"Middle Easterners need to take their glasses off and see their loved ones for who they are," Reza said in the show. He spoke to the LA Times, where he said he hopes the episode is a conversation starter for others people who may find themselves in similar situations.
