James Van Der Beek Discusses The Six Stages Of Fame On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (VIDEO)

James Van Der Beek On The Six Stages Of Fame

What stage of fame is getting to star as yourself in a sitcom? James Van Der Beek has reached a unique level of stardom where he's more famous for being James Van Der Beek than any of his past roles, including Dawson on the popular "Dawson's Creek." He talked about that rise and fall of fame on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (Weeknights, 12 a.m. ET on ABC).

For Van Der Beek, it was the rise to the point where people not only remember your name, but pronounce it correctly. Then it's, "Dude, you're Dawson," before finally crumbling to, "Aren’t you the guy from ‘Saved By The Bell’?"

But that's all in the past, because now James Van Der Beek will be James Van Der Beek in the new ABC comedy "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23," premiering Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. ET after "Modern Family." After nearly ten years in the guest role circuit -- during which he's become an Internet phenom as well -- it's past time Van Der Beek returned to a regular role on television.

Check out James Van Der Beek on the premiere of "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23," Wednesday, April 11 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs weeknights at 12 a.m. ET on ABC.
