Jessica Simpson Brushes Off 'Fat' Comments (PHOTOS)

Jessica Simpson Jokes About 'Fat' Comments

Jessica Simpson is used to having people analyze her ever-changing weight -- especially since she's pregnant.

The star, who gained an estimated 40 to 50 pounds during her pregnancy, has chosen not to let comments about her body bother her. The 31-year-old took to Twitter, letting fans know they should pick up her nude Elle magazine cover before it's too late. "

Simpson took the high road after "The View" co-host Joy Behar felt it necessary to comment on the soon-to-be first-time mom's weight on the show, last week.

"Remember the time Jessica Simpson was criticized because she didn't know the difference between chicken and tuna?" asked Behar, referring to a famous gaffe Simpson made on her reality show "Newlyweds." "That kind of thing is more fun to criticize than the fact that the girl is fat. Most women who are pregnant are not supposed to gain more than 25 pounds. She looks like she gained a lot more than that."

With the exception of Simpson's tweet, she hasn't responded to Behar's comment. And she didn't need to, since Tori Spelling, who is pregnant with her fourth child, stuck up for the star.

"When women are pregnant, people need to lay off. It’s a really special time and you should be able to deal with it in your own terms," she told Celebuzz on Wednesday. "You just have to wear it proud and go with it."

Simpson doesn't seem concerned with the chatter surrounding her weight, nor does she seem worried about taking it off. The singer is reportedly looking forward to getting fit after giving birth, which shouldn't be too hard given that she has some pretty good motivation to drop the weight. Simpson is reportedly signed on to receive $3 or $4 million as a Weight Watchers spokesperson.
