Jon Stewart Blasts NBC For George Zimmerman 911 Call Edit (VIDEO)

WATCH: Jon Stewart BLASTS NBC

NBC's "Today Show" found itself in hot water last week after an edit of George Zimmerman's 911 call made it to air without context. The clip, from the now famous Trayvon Martin case, made it appear that Zimmerman broached the topic of race on his own during the call, when in fact he only mentioned Martin's race once prompted by the 911 dispatcher.

The network admitted fault and launched an internal investigation in order to identify and fire the "seasoned" producer responsible for the edit, but as Jon Stewart pointed out on Monday night's "Daily Show," it doesn't change the fact that millions of viewers' opinions were probably swayed by the recording as they saw it.

Stewart likened NBC's portrayal of the phone call to an episode of "Jeopardy" without Alex Trebek's answers -- it makes the obviously-intelligent contestants look dumb. "What is the University of Texas? IT'S A SCHOOL IN TEXAS," Stewart joked.

His disappointment wasn't limited to just the peacock network, though. Stewart also took on Fox News and Judith Miller for their coverage of the Martin case.
