Brush Fire Near Meadowlands MetLife Stadium (VIDEO)

WATCH: Big Brush Fire Near Meadowlands

A large brush fire ignited along the New Jersey Turnpike in the Meadowlands near the MetLife Stadium on Wednesday.

The cause of the fire has not been identified, but it is among several brush fires that have occurred in the tri-state due to heavy winds and dry weather conditions, including a major fire in Long Island that started on Monday, damaging 1,000 acres of land and destroyed three buildings.

Wednesday's 3-alarm fire in the Meadowlands produced large plumes of thick, black smoke and as of this afternoon, continues to burn.

No evacuations have taken place and firefighters from seven towns are working on the scene. According to NJ.com, the massive fire is visible from central New Jersey and even parts of Manhattan.

The abnormally dry weather conditions recently pushed the National Weather Service to issue a red flag warning throughout the area, including New York City.
