George Zimmerman To Plead Not Guilty In Trayvon Martin Shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The attorney for neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman says his client will plead not guilty to second-degree murder in the shooting of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin.

Attorney Mark O'Mara asks that people not jump to conclusions about his client's guilt. He says he's "hoping that the community will calm down" now that charges have been filed and the case is moving forward.

ZImmerman has acknowedged shooting Martin but says it was in self-defense after the two got into a fight on Feb. 26.

The charge against ZImmerman was announced earlier Wednesday.
