Songs About Food: HuffPost Food's Spotify Playlist

Posted: 04/11/2012 8:09 am Updated: 04/11/2012 11:15 am

In conjunction with Spotify's launch of their snazzy embeddable player, HuffPost's various sections were asked to create playlists around their beat. So we present to you, HuffPost Food's Songs About Food. This is a playlist to eat with, cook with, entertain with, travel with or just zone out with. We'll continue to expand the playlist and welcome any of your suggestions for additions from the comments below. Repeat artists allowed! In the meantime, here are the introductory courses in our sonic feast:

I think this first sentence means that HuffPost is being paid to promote Spotify.

"In conjunction with Spotify's launch of their snazzy embeddable player, HuffPost's various sections were asked to create playlists around their beat."

I think it also means that from now on, there's no hope of anyone here ever producing a playlist or writing about musical artists without promoting Spotify. Which you must download in order to listen.

I'm surprised they haven't yet made us all download some AOL product in order to view videos.

Apparently unless you are willing to be forced to join facebook you can not hear these songs.

Well, you can download Spotify without joining facebook. But you'll probably have to pay for it.

Spotify does intend to rule and control what we listen to, and HuffPost is obliging them in every way.

Great list! I am not sure the Stones' Brown Sugar is really about food though.

"I Like Food" by the Descendents

I like food, food tastes good!
I like food, food tastes good!
Juicy burgers, greasy fries,
Turkey legs and raw fish eyes
Teenage girls, with ketchup too!
Get out of my way, or I'll eat you
I like food, food tastes good!
I like food, food tastes good!
I'm going to turn dining
back into eating
I like food, food tastes good!
I like food, food tastes good!
