Megan Denman, Teacher, Arrested For Having Oral Sex, Sleeping With Student (VIDEO)

Megan Denman, a 29-year-old social sciences teacher at Hoover High School in Fresno, Calif., was arrested for allegedly performing oral sex on and sleeping with a student who was under 18, KFSN TV reports.

Denman has been put on paid administrative leave during the investigation, and Fresno Unified Superintendent Michael Hanson told the station he's saddened by the allegations.

"Unfortunately, we have learned of an alleged inappropriate relationship between a teacher and student in our own district," Hanson told KFSN. "Words cannot describe my deep disappointment in this alleged breach of teacher/student relationship."

Students, however, had a different reaction to the news.

"I kinda don't believe it 'cause she doesn't seem like that," an unnamed student told CBS 47 News.

KSEE TV reports this is only the latest in example of at least five alleged inappropriate teacher-student relationships the area has seen in the last 10 months.

Denman has since been released on bail and authorities say they have no reason to suspect other students were involved in the illegal activity.

people so fast to jump to conclusions. and to already say that women are at higher rate in these crimes coz of public attention to cute faces of teachers. you just avoiding the fact that many male pervs don't get public attention as female teachers do. coz it's new and they are pretty (some of them). but most of these cases include female teachers with bipolar disorder or else. sure it is wrong to seduce minor student but if it is consensual (and that kid could seduce her) why should teacher be put in jail for 10 or more years! even if she seduced him she shouldn't go to jail. she did it once and has no criminal past. she should get probation (and male teachers too in similar cases) and rehab treatment (if she is bipolar). how could jail time do good? rape by prison guards and inmates are very clever decision.US prosecutors try to put in jail everyone (minors in adult prisons, teachers for having consensual sex). jails are not rubber

You got it ALL WRONG. A lot of people still believes that most molesters are males, and that men in any educational setting are suspect. This frees the younger "cute" females to engage in inappropriate relationships with impunity. With each of these reported cases there are how many that go unreported?
It is up to the adult to say NO to a relationship with a student, and in order for the relationship to even start, someone had to be inappropriate and it was probably the adult. Molesters select and groom vulnerable teens, offering gifts or privileges (like driving their car) or plying them with alcohol.
The reason these cases are so sensationalized is that too many people have sick fantasies about molestation by a female. Make no mistake about it, being molested by anyone in a position of trust/authority is a violation of that trust, and must be punished.

In Highschool I had a very attractive 27 year old female teacher that made several advances. Toward the end of my senior year on a class trip bus ride she came on sat on my lap. The sexual tension was very very apparent and real between the two of us. Now nearly two lifetimes later in age I am still traumatized. It is a horrible feeling knowing I was that close and never closed the deal. I wish I was in homeroom to high five that kid. Don't underestimate how pumped up that kid is to have captured the thrown on such an attractive teacher. The only thing traumatic for him is the public attention and that his teacher may get prosecuted and that he can't do it again. Congrats on closing the deal kid!

Thank you for sharing your sick fantasy. The 27 year old teacher was a sick individual being inappropriate with SOMEONE ELSE'S CHILD. Would you be thrilled to have a male teacher brush his bulging crotch against your daughter on a school bus? Would you encourage her the next time to unzip and go for it? This fascination with female pedophila in this country is indeed America's dirty little secret, and comments like yours need to be challenged.
It is because of all these sexual fantasies of molestation that attractive female predators are able to operate almost with impunity in our schools.

Wow....What is going on with these Teachers.?? 15-20 years ago, sex between Teachers and students was predominantly a male perpetrated crime, but it seem as though over the last 5 years every other week you hear about a female Teacher crossing the line...I guess these female Teachers want their fair share of the negative attention this crime generates...

We have students having sex at 13 years old with each other ( go to any high school and you should find at least 1 teenager pregnant). Not only that but they are wearing a condom. Could one say that they understand what they are doing and are fully aware of their actions!
