We often bemoan celebs for dressing in clothes overly sexy and skimpy. But we rarely remember that at least they -- and we -- can wear those clothes... and that the only risk they take is bad press or a wardrobe malfunction.

But swimwear designer Tala Raassi, who hails from Tehran, sat down in our offices and recalled her own experiences that serve as a reminder. After feeling oppressed, sartorially and otherwise, in her native Iran, Raasi embraced fashion as a symbol of freedom. Now her swimsuit designs can be found on the contestants of Miss Universe.
