WASHINGTON --This weekend calls for a little celebration. With clowns. At a fundraiser for a charity that brings circus performers to refugee camps.

Other weekend fun: Raise a toast to the one-year-old DC Brau or hit a show at the newly re-opened Howard Theatre, catch a comedy act or see an Icelandic indie-folk band.

Clowns Without Border (a real organization!) is holding a fundraiser that promises to be quite a circus. "Black Ties, Red Noses" raises money to bring clowns into refugee camps and other places in need of laughter. For you, the $35 entrance ticket gets a free drink, loads of entertainment and a limited supply of red noses. Performances include acrobatics, fire performers, burlesque and a dance party that lasts all night long. The Arts Club of Washington, 2017 I St. NW, 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $35.
