'Swamp People': Jay Paul Takes A Break From Hunting To Save An Orphaned Fawn (VIDEO)

'Swamp People' Save An Orphaned Fawn

Most of the time on "Swamp People" (Thu., 9 p.m. ET on History), the drama comes from hunting and killing dangerous prey like alligators. But this week, a softer side emerged as Jay Paul came upon a weakened fawn. He speculated that it had been orphaned in a recent tropical storm.

"When I got to it, I could see it was skin and bones, probably hadn’t eaten in a couple of days. He’s helpless," Paul said. "If he dies, at least I know I tried. But if I leave him out here, he’s just gonna die."

Ultimately, he took the fawn to a game warden where it would have its best chance of survival. In the wild, it had no chance at all.

Keep up with all the excitement on "Swamp People," Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on History.
