www.foxnews.com:

We lose sleep over so many things, so the last thing we need is our late-night dining decisions working against us.

Everyone likes a little nighttime nosh, but what you decide to nibble on can drastically affect how well you sleep. While some foods help your slumber, others (fatty or greasy options) can wreak havoc on your rest.

If you're looking for a peaceful night, here are the 10 foods you should avoid right before bed.

Because here at HuffPost they don't actually write stories anymore, they've mastered the art of the copy and paste, and linking!

What a load of nonsense. Your digestive system doesn't need to "rest" while you're sleeping. Sleep is for your brain and central nervous system, and if damaged, your skeletal muscles. Your digestive system goes about its business whether you are awake or asleep, and is designed to do so. The old saw about not eating before bedtime because the carbs will turn to fat is simply ridiculous. What decides whether or not you gain or lose weight (whether you store fat) is the total amount of calories consumed per period of time versus the total amount burned. The balance between the two on a daily basis is what matters, not when you eat. I really wish news outlets would get physicians, biochemists and certified nutritionists to write these articles, instead of reporters and self-appointed fitness "experts" who don't know what they're talking about and keep on repeating the same old myths with no scientific validity. Just because yu read it in a newspaper or magazine soemwhere doesn'[t make it true. Check the scientific literature and you'll see how most of this pop-culture wisdom is total hooey.

Are you afraid you may get an opposing view that makes sense?

No; they make money on clicks and I don't care to give them any, especially since there's no truth they provide that I can't find elsewhere.

This article is stupid. I don't need a "nighttime nosh" whatever that is. My stomach does not get bored or empty within two hours of eating. All food should be avoided before going to bed.
