Garth and Kat, the feathered-hair singing duo played by Fred Armisen and Kristen Wiig, returned to Weekend Update on "Saturday Night Live" last night to regale Seth Meyers with some new songs about spring.
In an interview with Movieline last year, Wiig revealed that the Garth and Kat sketches are the only improvised bits on "SNL." (Lorne Michaels is famously intolerant of improvisation during the taping of the show). Of course, this always results in Seth Meyers growing irritated with their lack of preparedness -- this time, they even made up the name of a new Garth and Kat live album on the spot.
But sadly, this may be the last we see of Garth and Kat. Kristen Wiig's contract is up at the end of this season, and it's widely expected that she will leave the show before the beginning of next season.
