Gotye On 'Saturday Night Live': Singer Performs 'Somebody That I Used To Know' With Kimbra

WATCH: Gotye & Kimbra Get To Know 'SNL'

He may not have made all of the teenage girls scream like last week's "Saturday Night Live" musical guests One Direction, but Gotye's toned-down, mellow performance of "Somebody That I Used to Know" was enjoyable nonetheless.

The Australian singer was joined onstage by artist Kimbra as the two performed their hit single -- sans body paint. However, later in the show, Gotye was on hand to help mock his infamous music video when it was hilariously recreated by "SNL's" Andy Samberg and Taran Killam.

Gotye's single “Somebody That I Used To Know,” which has been on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 13 consecutive weeks, has over 160 million views on YouTube.

Only in the past few months has Gotye begun to invade the U.S. pop music charts. In Australia, "Somebody That I Used to Know" sat atop the singles charts for eight weeks, making it the highest charting song there since Savage Garden's "Truly Madly Deeply" in 1997. Not to mention that the song was recently covered on Fox's hit comedy "Glee," as well as performed by contestants on both "The Voice" and "American Idol."

It's also hit No. 1 in New Zealand, Ireland, and Austria. In Poland, it stayed at No. 1 for a record 16 weeks, and his album was declared platinum after only one day.

"Glee" isn't the first to cover Gotye's hit single. Check out some of our other favorite "Somebody That I Used to Know" covers below.
