'Modern Family': Claire Has A Very Awkward Way Of Dealing With Death (VIDEO)

Dealing With Death On 'Modern Family'

After the Dunphy's elderly neighbor Walt passes away on "Modern Family" (Wed., 9 p.m. ET on ABC), Claire was worried that Luke would have difficulty processing it. But perhaps she should have been more concerned with how she processes death. Apparently, no one ever told her that she has a tendency to smile; especially when talking about it to others.

By the end of the episode, she was at Walt's house and had to break the news to two different people that showed up, and both of them were disgusted and disturbed by her laughter and smiling.

The show juggled three other plotlines alongside the death of Walt. Haley tricked Gloria and her parents to allow her to have a party at Jay's house with "Uncle" Manny as adult supervision. Meanwhile, Cam and Mitchell's dads found common ground in their uncomfortable acceptance of their sons' homosexuality, while Phil tried to have an epic day with Alex, after realizing he'd kind of dropped the ball on his middle child.

Watch "Modern Family" on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
