Jeb Bush: I'd Consider Vice Presidency

04/20/12 04:39 PM ET  AP

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush says he'd consider running as vice president with Mitt Romney, but doubts he'll ever be asked.

Bush tells the conservative website Newsmax that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is "probably the best" choice to share the ticket with Romney, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee. Bush said he hopes the freshman senator is offered the No. 2 slot and accepts it.

Rubio has said repeatedly that he isn't interested in leaving the Senate.

Bush said he'd consider running if Romney were to ask him. But the former governor added that he's not sure running for vice president is the right thing for him and said he's doubtful he'd even receive the call.

I don't know. There's so much unrest in the country & the economy is SPOOKING folks. Also, Jeb seems sane, normal & smart when compared to his brotha.

I wasn't expecting this, AT ALL.

Gotta be honest, I'll be a bit nervous if he puts Bushy on the ticket.

AND ... (♥)Congrats!

Hope you're happy & not miserable like every other (straight) married couple that I know. LOL!

Jeb Bush is the most intelligent of the Bush brothers and would probably outshine Romney on the ticket--ergo, not a good idea for Romney. It would end up looking like Michael Dukakis standing beside Lloyd Bentsen did in 1988. Romney needs to be very careful to pick someone who would be at least pro forma credible as president (i.e. don't repeat the Sarah Palin-style mistake...) but not to get outshined. My gut would be to pick Pat Toomey and make a play for Pennsylvania. That is speaking purely in tactical terms--personally, I'm debating whether to grit my teeth & vote for Obama again (no serious objections on issues, but when will he get out front and LEAD...) or vote for Gary Johnson on the libertarian ticket as a protest.

Points taken ... BUT ... Jeb would give Romney substance & that will sway lots of the indies.
Jeb is also kind of cool, not hyper & clownish like Romney is.
PEOPLE ACTUALLY TRUST JEB because he actually has stature & COMMON SENSE.

He'll pull VA & FL - for sure!
I'm hoping that Romney will be too much of chicken to bring on a Bush, but if he does, this could be trouble for Prez O - IMO.

Jeb has always wanted to be in Big Business, he has his disaster response business that provides emergency planning, preparedness consulting, crisis communications and regulatory compliance services to....corporations and governments! Not relief to middle America disasters, small farms, towns, those who get hit hardest in the pocket.

Just think if Obama does not reelected, some arrogant Republican win instead, and one of former President Bush's relatives becomes Vice President...

I smell D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R all the way.
