Mitt Romney Campaign Announces $12.6 Million Haul In March

WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney brought in close to $12.6 million in March, his campaign announced on Friday.

The campaign has in total raised $87 million in one year, and now has $10.1 million in cash on hand.

Romney has not loaned money or made his own contributions to the campaign, according to the release. The campaign, unlike that of opponent Newt Gingrich, has no debt.

"Mitt Romney’s continued strong fundraising shows that voters across the country are tired of the failures from President Obama," National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick said in a statement. "We will continue the hard work to raise the necessary funds to defeat President Obama and change the direction of the country."

By contrast, President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party brought in $53 million in March.
