Cybill Shepherd's Polka-Dot Tie, 1971: A Look Back

A Look Back: Cybill Shepherd's Polka-Dot Tie

"A Look Back" is a daily column that highlights a moment from fashion's fabulous past. Today's pick is of American actress Cybill Shepherd in New York on October 27, 1971 wearing a polka-dot tie and velvet blazer. Famous for roles in "The Last Picture Show," "Moonlighting" and "Taxi Driver," as well as dating Elvis Presley and Bruce Willis, Shepherd actually got her start as a model after she was named "Miss Teenage Memphis" in 1966. A style icon throughout the 1970s, Shepherd has recently appeared on "The L Word" and "Psych." What do you think of her menswear-inspired look, below. Would you try wearing a tie?
