Keith Olbermann On 'This Week': Former Current TV Host Talks Dog Wars, Secret Service Scandal, Romney VP Picks (VIDEO)

Keith Olbermann appeared on TV to talk politics for the first time since his explosive exit from Current TV on Sunday, joining the political roundtable on "ABC This Week."

"This Week" announced his appearance on Thursday. The usually-fiery host was a well-behaved guest on Sunday.

Olbermann mostly spoke only when asked a question by host George Stephanopoulos. The only exception was his objection to Peggy Noonan's suggestion that Mitch Daniels and Rob Portman, who both have business backgrounds, would be good vice-presidential picks.

"Do -- do you really want a second businessman on that ticket, though, in light of the -- if it's not a majority view, it's a very large view right now that business has never been viewed less favorably in this country since they ran Jay Gould out of town," Olbermann said.

Noonan answered that a lot of voters associate business people with job creation. "What about running a government?" Olbermann asked.

He also weighed in on the Secret Service prostitution scandal, the recent dog wars waged by the presidential campaigns, and of course, baseball.

He dismissed the Romney campaign's focus on Obama having eaten dog meat as a ridiculous tactic on the part of Republicans. "It raises the level of absurdity to something exponential," he said. "With so many valuable questions going on, we're wasting most of the time dealing with the dogs."

Olbermann appeared to enjoy the discussion. After Donna Brazile said that she knows people who can cook dog meat, he jokingly responded, "If you've ever bought anything on the streets of New York, the odds are pretty good, too."
