Allen West: FBI Allows Muslim Brotherhood To Influence National Security, Warns Of 'Cultural Suicide'

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) sounded the alarm on Monday over the FBI's decision to scrap nearly 900 pages of training materials that had been determined offensive, culturally insensitive and in some cases entirely misleading or incorrect.

"We have to understand that when tolerance becomes a one-way street it will lead to cultural suicide," West warned on Fox News in response to the FBI's move late last month. "We should not allow the Muslim Brotherhood-associated groups to be influencing our national security strategy."

West then continued, saying that he "absolutely" believed the Muslim Brotherhood was affecting decisions made by American officials, pointing particularly to a report on accused Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan.

"It makes no reference to Islamic jihadism, Muslim extremism, it doesn't talk about his association with al-Awlaki, and it is classified as workplace violence," West said. "We're making our security situation so vanilla. If we continue to be recalcitrant in identifying who the enemy is and to be less offensive to them, then we're gonna put ourselves in a bad situation."

The controversial sections of the FBI training material first arose last year in a report from Wired. Particular passages included a PowerPoint slide on Muslims, claiming that "under certain circumstances, the FBI has the ability to bend or suspend the law and impinge on freedoms of others." Another claimed that Muslims were prone to violent outbursts and anger issues, likening them to "Jekyll and Hyde temper tantrums."

West, who has a rich history of making controversial statements about Muslims and Islam, said the decision to scrub training points was disturbing.

"Now you have an environment of political correctness which precludes these agents from doing their proper job and due diligence to go after the perceived threat," West said.

I wish he'd make up his mind. First the Democrats are Nazis, and then they are Communists. Either Mr. West is so ignorant of history that he doesn't understand that Nazis and Communists are at the opposite ends of the political spectrum, or he is so ignorant of politics that he cannot get his mind around a two party system, a free press, the right to one's own opinion, and the idea of a majority vote. Or perhaps he is simply ignorant.

One thing is for sure, he is a boob. And I would say he makes Florida look foolish, but really we don't need any help that way...

Allan West, He has his job because of the opportunities created by the civil rights laws championed by Democrats, that struck down Jim Crow laws and equalized the playing field. Now he has taken it upon himself to propagandize everything that the democrats do and help Republican's bring back Jim Crow laws in Republican controlled States. Talk about being someone who has no ability to play fair and to actually understand that if Republicans still had not allowed the 1964 Civil Rights Act that he would probably not be where he is today no matter how hard he worked for it.

Al. Sharpton is quite intelligent. He is a logical thinker and strong human rights advovate.He has the respect of the majority of people of color. Al West is respected by hardly anyone. Most people of color see him for the joke that the average right winger sees. It is not politically damaging for people of color to tell the truth about how they feel about him.
