Jennifer Sterger Reveals Her On-Field Limits: 'Out Of Bounds' (VIDEO)

Jenn Sterger

Sexism in sports has been an ongoing conversation since at least the passage of Title IX in 1972, a conversation that's joined in the most recent episode of “Out Of Bounds.” During Episode 2 of HuffPost Black Voices' sports video series, Holly Robinson Peete, LaLa Vazquez, Jennifer Sterger and designer and broadcast journalist Tracy Mourning discuss female stereotypes in sports.

No stranger to the playing field, Sterger made headlines in 2010 when she claimed NFL quarterback, Brett Favre emailed her photos of his private parts during her tenure as the gameday host of the New York Jets. With the scandal behind, the 28-year-old explains how she knew her limits on the field as a host. "I was like an in-game host. It was my job to get drunk fans more riled up than they already were, which is not hard to do," she explains. "But that was my job, to keep the fans entertained while they were at the game ... it's a very minimal role, but I know what my limits are. And mine were from the entertainment aspect."

"I would never want to do play-by-play. Some women, they can do it, they're very good at it. But some women, I don't even want to watch them try."

When it comes to the celebrity panel discussing locker room double standards, Mourning felt that everyone should conduct themselves in a cordial, professional manner. "I don't think guys belong in a women's locker room," she said. "But as a reporter and sports reporter, I want to get in there and get the story. I think guys should be gentleman and have respect and cover up and let me get my story."

Check out more of the "Out Of Bounds" discussion in the exclusive clip above.

If women are going into men's locker rooms then men should be able to go into women's. Both sexes should have separate interview rooms where the players go either before changing or after.

Jack Morris, the pitcher for the Tigers, said it best many years ago - "I don't talk to women when I'm naked unless they're on top of me or I'm on top of them."

These things usually run in a pattern. Old Brett has only this lady going to court? Are there any others? I have doubts about this case

I don't get it. There are tons of females in the sports industry. Not EVERY woman wants do things like that. Why are these questions worded like women are not being withheld from certain positions and jobs in the sports industry. Sure, I'm sure there is a fair share of sexist people running things but, I'd imagine if a woman was good at whatever role she wanted to play. It would be easier to get noticed and start doing whatever it is they want to do. There are plenty of networks & shows out there. Honestly I'd rather watch a whole slew of females breaking down play by plays and other things. I just don't think there is a huge pool of able and willing women searching for the role.

(stereotypes women in sports)....humm. If it bothers a woman to pose in playboy...then don't. If it upsets a female to be a cheerleader in a skimpy outfit then wear overalls. If you want to get the report in a locker room then expect to see big guys in stages of undress...its their world you're entering. Don't be upset if you walk in a see something akin to a wildebeast lookin at ya

-- Wait? It's not ok for guys to be in a girls locker room but it's for girls to be in a guys locker room, or am I just reading this wrong? I do agree they should act accordingly and cover up, at the same time, if you're going to conduct an interview, when not have hang around outside prior to heading to the back and giving a quick interview? Why have it in the locker room at all.

At least she acknowledged that double standards are "life"..ie that women should be allowed in mens' locker rooms but not the opposite

So at the very least we can go forward that everyone(almost) favors double standards.
