Minnesota Republican Party Gets Eviction Notice After Failing To Pay Rent For Its Headquarters

By   04/23/12 01:35 PM ET  AP

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota's debt-plagued Republican Party faces an eviction hearing next week after failing to pay rent for its headquarters since August.

The party's landlord filed the notice in county housing court last week and a hearing is set for next week. Minnesota Republican Party Chairman Pat Shortridge told party members in a memo that officials are trying to renegotiate its lease.

The GOP has 21 months remaining on a lease with Hub Properties Trust for space a block from the state Capitol. Shortridge revealed the rent hadn't been paid in eight months.

The most recent federal campaign reports show the Minnesota GOP owes nearly $1 million to vendors. That includes $107,000 to Hub Properties.

The eviction notice was first reported by Politics in Minnesota.

Maybe the MN Republicans are hoping that the rent money will
magically "Trickle-down" to the landlords... just as they mistakenly
claim tax breaks for the wealthy do for the rest of us Americans.

It comes as no surprise that the GOP doesn't pay its rent, since it doesn't believe in people paying their fair share in taxes either, and supports super wealthy who live off of corporate welfare and millions in taxpayer subsidies to Big Oil. Yet they complain bitterly when an 101-year-old woman is evicted because she can't afford her property taxes and applies for assistance!

For the worse. We're evicting the rest of them in November. Things should start to improve again after that. I think they're going to show the re-runs of the GOP National Convention on Saturday Night Live.

Maybe Bachmann could use some of her farm subsidies to pay the rent.

Cheney said deficits don't matter but they should when you're about to be evicted.

And this is what is going to keep Walker in office? Face it folks, if he keeps his office it is because Koch and fiends gave so much money that the voters in the state were bombarded with ignorance, and fell for it.

Republicans don't pay their bills. They have little people that do that for them.

Newt and his companies are bankrupt, Santorum is $2 million in debt and headed the same way, the GOP/TP has bankrupt local offices, and who wants to vote these people in to handle the economy they tanked from 2000-2008, the national credit rating they tanked in 2011 and the charity they tanked in 2012 (Komen)?

Their trickle down theory doesn't even work for them.

Just like a Republican!
Pump the well until there is no mud even left!
Drive a car way past empty, and run out of gas!
I think the glorious state of Minnesota puts all who signed the lease in debtor's prison they seem to have there...
