The Top 13 States For Startup Jobs (PHOTOS)

Startup fever is spreading.

The number of startup jobs posted online in 2011 jumped 23.5 percent from the year before, according to StartupHire.com, a free job search engine for venture capital-backed companies.

And while most companies in hiring mode have a big pool of jobless Americans to choose from, startups face the opposite problem: They can't find workers to fill technical jobs. Thirty-six percent of all openings last year on StartupHire.com were for engineering or technical jobs. However, those two sectors saw only 15 percent of StartupHire's applicant pool apply for those positions, the Web site found.

So where in the U.S. do workers stand the best chance of landing a startup gig?
