Just enforce the law like the Mexicans do...strict adherance.
They are a lot smarter in Mexico than the democrats , they value their country.

No peep out of California who has a entirely walled border and full security. But, when anyone else wants to do the same, oh no, can;t have it that way. So Pelosi, tear down those walls and take them into your state.

Good move, stupid progressives. You are parading for your masses and will embarrass them and yourselves. Unlikely that you will open the gates for every Supreme Court decision to be overturned. Imagine if someone decides to go after Roe v. Wade?

I should have expected as much. The pres thinks its ok for him not to follow acts and law when mandating, should be ok for senate as well.

I really don't think that my fellow conservatives give Obama enough credit for his stance on illegal immigration. He has overseen the largest exodus of illegal immigrants in quite a while. All he had to do was make sure that there weren't any jobs.

Obama is not taking credit for it himself. Neither are is surrogates on cable news.

I wonder if the Hispanic voters even know that.

Seriously???
The Dems have been whining for years about how they can't get anything through the Senate because they don't have 60 votes to break a filibuster.
Now they are going to force a vote on something that the majority of citizens don't want.
Political suicide!

This not rocket science.

Since Chuck Schumer is spear-heading this Congressional inquiry as well as being Obama's point man on immigration reform, all that's required is for someone to ask him point blank how he intends to get valid background checks on the 30 million illegals in our midst.

There's no way of doing it.

Bribes and extortion are a way of life in Mexico. Walmart paid 30 million under the table to set up stores there. This bribe money went to local and state officials the very officials Mexican Federal government says it can do nothing about.

This renders "immigration" reform DEAD ON ARRIVAL.

Unless of course Chuck Schumer has a secret plan of getting valid criminal background checks he has told anyone about yet.

It's funny how many "Removed Comment" responses I got for criticism of Republicans inability to craft carefully-written, well thought out laws that don't violate the constitution, citizens rights, overstep bounds, or set themselves up for costly legal challenges in court. They also won't achieve their aims. They're simplistic gimmicks for votes. If you want to tackle illegal immigration, tackle the issue of business's need for cheap labor that Mexicans are more eager to offer. Maybe there's a legal way to arrange that. Tackle the issue of the appalling quality of life in parts of Mexico that make it worthwhile for so many to take their chances coming here. Otherwise, we can spend millions deporting and imprisoning illegals forever and blame them for doing whatever they have to to live better lives. I bet the Mexican government is only too happy to be rid of their most impoverished, just like Americans would be thrilled to see our poor flee to Mexico.

Really? If this bill is all you day it is, why does Schumer feel a need to set up a floor vote? If it is not well written, thought out, does not violate the constitution and citizens rights, why is he preparing to have this Kabuki Theater vote??????

We always accept everyone into our country but it should be done with dignity, respect and concern for life.

Never mind the Supreme court has already found once and now will again?
It doesn't bother you in the least?
What about the next guy that comes along? What if they bill to overturn Roe v. Wade or the right to own guns?

There have been many immigration and work solutions offered up including migrant work visas, temporary passes and other options, all turned down by the dems. Wouldn't it be nice to stop human smuggling and slavery? wouldn't it be nice to let humans be treated humanely and with dignity instead of hiding and running through desserts with drug lords away from their families.

Apparently it makes one a racist to be offended by the reality that illegal immigrants are filling our public schools with their children -- schools that are paid for by US taxpayers. It makes one a racist to note that free education and free emergency room health care continue to be magnets that draws illegal immigrants to America for a free ride on the backs of taxpayers.

You may be right. I should try to think more like a Republican and take the cheap labor and accept that free education for their children and free health care are acceptable costs of doing business with illegal immigrants. One can't help wondering on a cost/benefits analysis if the cheap labor is worth more than free eduction and health care.
