'Blue Jeans Ball' Raises $450,000 For Capital Area Food Bank
WASHINGTON -- The 9th Annual Blue Jeans Ball raised some $450,000 for the Capital Area Food Bank. And no one had to wear a tuxedo.
More than 700 casually-dressed people gathered Sunday night at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel to eat, dance, wear comfy clothes and participate in a silent auction for a good cause.
Participants included D.C. Council Chairman Kwame Brown, CBS White House correspondent Norah O'Donnell, Chef Geoff's Geoff Tracy and PS7 owner and chef Peter Smith -- look for an adorable photo of Smith fixing dessert with his daughter Lucy in the slideshow below.
