Camaro In Pool: Classic Car Takes A Dip When Driver Loses Control In Pembroke Pines (VIDEO)

LOOK: The Ultimate 'Whoops!'

Floridians are no stranger to finding unusual items in their pools -- check out this giant Burmese python that went for a dip, or the blind stallion that went horsing around the pool -- but a 1967 Camaro just might take the cake.

A family in Pembroke Pines discovered the classic car in their pool when arriving home Monday night. Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue spokesman Tom Gallagher told CBS Miami the driver lost control and slammed through shrubbery, a fence, and a pool screen before plunging fender first into the deep end.

The driver was taken to hospital to be checked for injuries, but gawking neighbors said he appeared to be merely shaken up by the experience.

"He jumped out of the vehicle before it went through," neighbor Kimberly Lafauci told WSVN, "so he was quite the Dukes of Hazzard, I guess."

As for the pool? Well, that's a bit of a bummer for the Aguilera family, who took in the scene in stride: they had just had the pool remodeled a month ago.
