David Lynch Foundation D.C. Summit Will Discuss Transcendental Meditation For Soldiers

David Lynch Group Touts Transcendental Meditation

WASHINGTON -- Famed director/writer/actor/musician/visual artist/coffee lover/Transcendental Meditation enthusiast David Lynch is bringing Transcendental Meditation to at-risk inner-city students and veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and their loved ones.

Lynch, known for groundbreaking and extremely dark works such as "Blue Velvet," "Twin Peaks" and "Mulholland Drive," has been a proud meditation enthusiast and since 2005 has operated the David Lynch Foundation.

The organization is hosting its first-ever National Summit on May 3 at the Army-Navy Club.

The summit will examine the positive force meditation has on those suffering from PTSD and more. The summit is free but seating is limited (registration and event information here).

It's nice to see that Lynch is able to help those less fortunate calm down while putting new nightmares in skulls with his 2011 album and video "Crazy Clown Time."

CLARIFICATION: This post has been updated to reflect that the Lynch Foundation promotes transcendental meditation, but not specifically yoga.
