Foggy Bottom Street 'Collapse' Closes 22nd Street Near GWU Campus (UPDATED)

Street 'Collapses' Near Center Of GWU Campus

WASHINGTON -- The District of Columbia Department of Transportation reported Wednesday morning that the intersection of 22nd and H streets NW in Foggy Bottom was closed due to investigate reports of a street collapse.

Adjacent to the intersection is George Washington University's Gelman Library and a construction site for the university's new Science and Engineering Hall.

According to DCist, the street "collapse" is fairly minor, about four to five feet in dimension.

It's certainly not as serious as the situation that played out on this shocking video from China.

This is a developing story and will be updated when more information becomes available.
