Phil Bryant, Mississippi Governor: Democrats' 'One Mission In Life Is To Abort Children'

Phil Bryant

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant (R), in defending his decision to sign a bill that could shut down Mississippi's only abortion clinic, told conservative radio host Tony Perkins on Tuesday that Democrats' "one mission in life is to abort children."

"Even if you believe in abortion, the hypocrisy of the left that now tried to kill this bill, that says that I should have never signed it, the true hypocrisy is that their one mission in life is to abort children, is to kill children in the womb," he said. "It doesn't really matter, they don't care if the mother's life is in jeopardy, that if something goes wrong that a doctor can't admit them to a local hospital, that he's not even board certified."

"We passed that bill and I think you'll see other states follow, and when that happens, at least these fly-in abortionists are going to be regulated under the state laws of the Medical Procedures Act here in the state of Mississippi as they should be across the nation," he said.

The bill in question, HB 1390, requires that all physicians who perform abortions in Mississippi have admitting privileges at the local hospital and be board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

While all of the physicians at the one clinic in the state are currently board certified OB-GYNs, only one of them has admitting privileges at a local hospital. The other two physicians can't get privileges because they live out of state, and the owner of the clinic has said it can't operate with only one doctor on staff.

Following Bryant's comments on the bill, Perkins took a dig at the Democrats who opposed it.

"Well, the driving factor is profit for many of them," he said.

Imo:

Something has gone terribly wrong with the Conservatives or the GOP or the Repubs or whatever you want to call them (right now I am tempted, and I don't mean this next as a joke, either, to call them the Fru itcake Party).  What has happened?

For months now and from all sides, one Repub after another has come forward with cr azy-sounding statements.  And not just that,  Read More...

Let's face it - the fanatic right call it "anti-abortion" because they refuse to say what it really is - anti-CHOICE.
The litmus test is not abortion, it's limiting women's rights to determine what happens to their own bodies. The sad, sad thing is that so many women ride the bandwagon right along with the men who want to dominate, control, and, if possible, own them.
Stockholm Syndrome at its most insidious.
It's one thing to be against abortion.
It's another thing to be against self-determination.
It's no surprise that people who claim to be pro-life and anti-abortion are also anti-contraception. It's about power and control, nothing else.
If we separate the two issues, maybe some day we can have a rational discussion and come to terms.

So in the 1790s Jefferson and Madison, who had never heard of "abortion" nevertheless founded a party with the express purpose of performing as many of them as possible.
In fact, today, many Democratic members of Congress can be seen entering the chambers still removing their medical scrubs and stethoscopes. All over the country, little Democratic children don't go to soccer practice after school like good little Republican children, because they are being groomed to serve the one true purpose of their party - performing abortions.

Where do these people get this stuff?
The only rational explanation I can think of is they know exactly how absurd and idiotic it is but they want to keep us plugging up the holes of these outrageous claims to distract us from working for the re-election campaign. Either that or they're throwing out as many claims as they can, hoping they'll stick enough to keep the election from being a landslide.

The alternative, that they actually believe this rubbish, is too horrible to consider. It that's the case, we have an awful lot of very, very dumb people in positions of much more power than is safe for them to have.

Gov. Phil Bryant and other teabaggers are so into women vaginas and care what we do with them it is to bad that is all they want to govern in Mississippi. Women do not have the right to do what they want we are going into the Dark ages again. So we will see again women putting cloth hangers up their vaginas to abort a fetus they do not want. Thanks to the dark age mentality. It is sad that the republican response to health care is is sticking a probe up a womens vaginia by government mandate. This is the same group that says gov't should say out of our indiviual rights and bank accounts but wants to know whats up in our vaginias.

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant (R) says 'the true hypocrisy', on the left, is'... that their one mission in life is to abort children, is to kill children in the womb."
While I say the Teapublican mission in life is to kill the children slowly through malnutrition, poor healthcare; if they survive all that, when the children reach a majority age kill them by sending them off to fight the wars for the 1%.

"Well, the driving factor is profit for many of them," he said.

Yes, because, oh mercy, we all know the huge profits to be made in abortions, instead of plastic surgery. That's why Planned Parenthood is just ROLLING in cash, right?

Governor Phil Bryant's comments are irresponsible, ignorant, and show a total lack of originality - just climb on the "Women need men to make their decisions for them" Republican bandwagon and tell whatever lies you wish because, hey, we'll confuse them with the double-speak. Fifty-two percent of the voters in the state of Mississippi already voted against "personhood" in November of 2011. But does the Governor care about his voting constituency? Obviously not; and that insult is like a slap in the face. These Republicans wish to phrase the issue of abortion in black and white; and, always, the picture they hold up is a picture of a third-trimester fetus, when in fact most abortions are performed at the zygote, or "products of conception" stage. But, it's not the abortion issue per se, no it is more insidious than that! The fine print is this: Stop the use of birth control; stop the use of in-vitro fertilization; stop stem cell research; and, God forbid (!) stop the possibility of cloning. Republicans believe, that if they show what looks to be a full-term baby as the victim of abortion, and tug on the heartstrings of the people who are too tired, or too lazy to do their own research into the "fine print." That, Governor Bryant, is also an insult to the people of Mississippi; because, basically, you're calling us a bunch of ignorant rednecks who don't understand the real issues.

Such narrow minded, truly ignorant lies! (Democrats "one mission in life is to abort children.") Is there anyone who can truly believe this? If so, why do Democrats get villified for so many other "mssions in life? LOL

My daughter, suffering from an ectopic pregnancy, had her life saved by aborting a fertilized egg. In order tofit into a fallopian tube, the tiny cell mass could not have been described as a baby or a child. Such ignorance is astounding, not to mention the fact that a woman's life was at stake.

Dogmatic zealots who screech that a woman's life is less important than a mass of unformed cells the size of a kidney bean (the developmental stage of a zygote when most abortions are performed) use replicas of fully formed infants to make others believe as they do, but that is a flat out manipulative & ignorant lie, as is the nonsense that Democrats' "one mission in life is to abort children."

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant left out the part of the speech/defense that tells the public, (or as NJ Governor Chris Christie would call it "the fine print".)..Teapublicans want to murder the children via unjust wars after they've been around for at least 18 years.

Perhaps this guy has 'Life Remorse" and wishes this had happened to him instead of him being born. That is the only reason I can think of as to why he would say such a nonsensical, silly and outright lie like this.

Check out California SB 1501. In June we will decide whether midwifes may perform abortions.

Come one, come all to California.

Again, Midwifery in California is a specific medical designation given to those trained and licensed professionals as certified in that field by the state medical board.

Outlawing abortion, which is his intention, will only make it more difficult and dangerous for poor women to get the procedure. Rich people, like his mistresses and daughters, can easily cross state lines where they are legal and readily accessible. Keep 'em poor, ignorant, barefoot, and pregnant...the teabagger plan for women.

They don't need to outlaw it, just de-fund clinics, like the law just passed in Texas.

In fact, Texas cut funding to Planned Parenthood under the new law prohibiting tax money being used to support any organization that provides abortions.
EXCEPT -- in Texas? PP doesn't even do abortions.
But their funding still got cut so ... no more early detection of cancers for poor women, no more contraception, no more health services.

Since when is it a bad thing to require medical professional to be trained and licensed and to perform surgery in a hospital?

You forgot to mention that the program is regulated by the state medical board, requires three years minimum education, traIning along with clinical experiences to qualify for a license. IF a certificate to practice is issued, they must be supervised by a physician. Also, they must renew every two years showing continued education specific to the field. The license grants certain limited authority to provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care. BTW, the program began in 1993 when Republican Governor Pete Wilson was in office.

At least they're not using the TX model - cut all funding to clinics providing abortions.
They used that to shut down Planned Parenthood there, even though it doesn't do them.
"I love you women!!!"
Ann Romney should try that in TX to the low income women who just lost their mammograms, PAP tests and other health care services...

"It doesn't really matter, they don't care if the mother's life is in jeopardy, that if something goes wrong that a doctor can't admit them to a local hospital, that he's not even board certified."

Once you cross that line where you can justify the abortion of an unborn living human child, disrespect for all other life comes naturally.

If you read the article (did you?) you would have seen that being board certified is not an issue/problem; it is having admitting priviledges to a LOCAL hosp. that is the issue/problem. Of course an MD must be board certified.

"Unborn, living human child" (aka fertilized egg(s) ) are sluffed off naturally by all women of fertile age every single month. Most forced birthers are uneducated in science/bilolgy/embryology.
