Summer is fast approaching, and for those of us with millions in disposable income and yet no Hamptons house of our own, that means one thing -- summer rental!
Crains reports today that the median sale price for houses along the East End are actually up about 9% this quarter, and nowhere is this little boom more visible than the robust (some may say absolutely insane) market for summer rentals.
Need to escape the machine heat and congestion of the city in the summer? We don't blame you. You could do worse than occupying a 6-bedroom mansion in Bridgehampton with a pool and mini golf course for $249,000 per month. Or for a nice place to kick back and read the Sunday New York Times in the sun, might as well try a 5,000 square-foot pad in Southampton for a mere $135,000 per month.
