James Hobbs, Stabbing Victim, Used Kebab To Stop Bleeding

He didn't have a blood donor, but good thing he had a doner kebab.

James Hobbs used a kebab to stem the bleeding from a massive neck wound after being stabbed, according to the Sun.

Hobbs used the food as a compression bandage on his neck after he was stabbed by Jamie Edney during an argument, the paper reports. The father of one lost 6 1/2 pints of blood before he was stitched up at a hospital.

Edney was later sentenced to 5 1/2 years in prison for the stabbing.

The Mirror reports that the two got into a fight after Hobbs banged on and kicked Edney's door, accusing him of having an affair with his girlfriend. Before confronting Hobbs, Edney grabbed a knife and, after being punched several times by Hobbs, the prosecution said Edney slashed Hobbs' throat.

The BBC reports that the judge showed leniency to Edney because he wasn't the one who started the altercation, handing down the lowest possible sentence he could, given the charge.

Kebabs have saved my life many times. The only late night fast food outlets in Stockholm, besides the usual sausage stands and American bugger king/ McD poison, is the little kebab houses mostly run by middle eastern immigrants. People are friendly and the food is healthy and delicious. Yummy. :-)

He didn't have to slit the man's throat to defend himself. He could have punched him or if he had to stab him, stab him somewhere less dangerous than the throat. The judge shouldn't have gone easy on him. I think the victim who did start the fight should also get some time for assault.

I think you're right. Hobbs punched Edney several times, the article states, before Edney stabbed Hobbs (for lovin' on Hobbs knobs). Wonder if Hobbs thinks the girlfriend was worth all the ruckus. If he had been stuffing that kebab in his mouth as it was intended, the argument may not have ensued. lol

Got to be more than what this report says. It clearly indicates that Edney was home with no intent of doing any harm to anyone. Hobbs on the other hand went to his home and began a violent altercation. Something here doesn't make sense.

It's possible. I lost over 8 pints of blood. Arrived at the hospital emergency room with a hemoglobin of 3.8. Still conscious. It took 8 units of packed cells to get me up to a 10.0. In the U.S.
