Marines Prostitute Attack: Brazilian Prostitute Plans To Sue US Embassy

SAO PAULO — A Brazilian prostitute plans to sue the U.S. Embassy, three Marines, an American staff member and one of the embassy's Brazilian drivers for injuries caused when she allegedly was pushed out of a van in Brasilia.

Attorney Cezar Britto says his client will sue for injuries, medical expenses and lost income.

He describes Romilda Aparecida Ferreira as a "sex professional and dancer" who met the Americans at a nightclub on Dec. 29, 2011. She and three other women left with the men in three vehicles.

Britto says that after an argument, a Marine tossed her from the vehicle. She broke her collarbone, two ribs and punctured a lung.

The State Department says the woman was outside, trying to open the moving vehicle's door.

The four Americans were sent home.

So...are you saying the embassy staff should have killed her? Luckily this decision is not in your hands. I think it would be much smarter to train our foreign staff to quit hiring prostitutes in the first place, since they obviously don't how how to handle the simplest business transactions.

I can understand the desire to redress the wrongdoings of ugly americans in exotic lands. I'm not sure how to take the testimony of a professional sex worker. What kind of objective standards of credibility does one use to assess this? Woman vs. Abusive man? Prostitute vs. Marine? Maybe their should be SOME FREAKIN SECURITY ISSUES about foreign sex workers having access to embassy and Secret Service personnel?

Prostitution is probably the oldest job that has existed in human history. The "nasty" wouldn't be there to spread if there weren't any customers for it, and there have been customers for it for a very, very, very long time. I don't pity her, but I don't blame her for suing either. She and her lawyer will likely get a nice chunk of $s (and probably a subtle threat) to shut up because of the publicity of this thing. Other than that, I doubt it will even go to court, though I hope it does.

I agree with the first part of your statement. True. But, don't you think the courts have enough fake suits to deal with. Do we really need to debate whether or not a prostitute should have been paid? No. She should have gotten her money first, poor baby!!! That's one thang you can't take back.
