Jack White Gary Oldman 'American Express Unstaged' Promo Draws Blood (VIDEO)

WATCH: Jack White Tackles Gary Oldman To The Ground

Jack White and Gary Oldman may sound like an unusual creative pairing for some, but after watching this inside look at White's "American Express Unstaged" performance, directed by Oldman, it looks like the two got along quite well. That is, until White tackled Oldman to the ground and busted his lip.

For White, that's what you call a friendly introduction.

Swollen lip aside, the two act like old friends, even though they had never met before. White revealed that he chose Oldman to direct his "Unstaged" performance because he liked the idea of having a director who is also an accomplished actor. "I'm always interested when actors direct because they're going to have a different take on it," White tells Oldman. "In music, if you had the drummer produce the track ... it would be totally different."

Oldman reveals in the promo that he immediately signed on to the project. "It fell from the sky," says Oldman. "It was a wild call, but it was a no brainer for me. I love music." Check it out above.
