We're not entirely sure what Nicki Minaj is trying to do in her new video for "Starships." Is she an alien? Is that why she has green hair? Why is she on the set of "Lost"? If so, where's the Smoke Monster? Who are all of these people? Why does she only wear bikinis? Where did the body paint come from? The questions are endless.
However, it looks like Minaj could have used director Michael Bay's help on that computer-generated UFO starship. We all know how much he loves 3D animation ... and fire.
"Starships," the current single off Minaj's latest album, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," is currently No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 5 a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, her album debuted at No. 1 earlier this month.
In January, Minaj dropped her video for "Stupid Hoe," the first single off "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded." However, the video was deemed too sexy to air on TV, as BET banned the video from airing on their network.
Minaj's video isn't anything new, but then again, according to the reviews for her album, neither is her music.
