Scott Brown's Tax Returns Show Rising Income, $1,401 Spent On 'TV Makeup And Grooming'

Sen. Scott Brown's (R-Mass.) tax returns, released Friday by his campaign, show he spent thousands on styling and entertainment.

The Boston Herald reports:

Brown took a $1,401 deduction for “TV makeup and grooming” in 2011 as part of a $6,901 tax deduction for varied expenses which included $1,268 for book promotions and photos and $716 for gifts. His deductions include $2,275 for “entertainment” in 2009 and $225 for “recording devices” in 2010.

Brown's income has risen from about $294,000 before taking office to nearly $840,000 in 2010, mainly owing to a book advance, according to the Boston Globe. In 2011, his income was $510,856.

Elizabeth Warren, Brown's Democratic opponent, also released her tax returns, which showed that she and her husband made $616,181 in 2011.

Brown and Warren both agreed to release their taxes at the request of the Boston Globe. Brown released six years, and Warren four years.
