Prostitute
An image of the Virgin of Guadalupe hangs from a necklace over the chest of Nicaraguan sex worker and member of NGO Girasoles Nicaragua (Nicaragua Sunflowers), Nicole, as she waits for clients at a brothel in Managua on April 18, 2012.

Your Tango:

The recent secret service sex scandal has some wondering if there is a better argument for criminalizing the patronizing of prostitutes around the world than the fact that these women are mistreated and "stiffed" regularly, and that they have to give a good portion of their money to a guy who basically owns them.

Prostitution should be legal. But only for a man who is certified --I mean proved-- single and not married. Johns should be forced to prove that they are not married and pursued under penalty of law if they are married. If married, a John should provide PERMISSION from his wife to be serviced by the prostitute. Why? First of all, MARITAL ASSETS are used to pay for the services. A man's paycheck is not his own if he is married, and especially if he has children. Some men are so selfish that they would let their children starve so they can have kinky sex. Why should children go without for his sexual satisfaction? A wife should approve the use of any marital assets used to compensate a prostitute. Secondly, a legal contract is taken at marriage that both partners keep only to themselves and that the marriage bed is not contaminated by any third party. Wives have the absolute right, especially with the virulence of disease, to be absolutely certain of a clean husband, and so they do have the right to know where he has been and who he has been with. Considering all of that, sure, go ahead and legalize prostitution. But there should be severe penalties when wives are mislead by their John husbands.

No. What two consenting adults do is between them. There are many circumstances where a person may need or just want to use a prostitute. If you can have premarital sex, why not have the ability to also pay for it? Yeah, in a perfect world, everyone would fall in love with someone and have sex after marriage. Now back to reality.
