Yvette Clarke, New York Rep., Notifies Police After Video Of Her Surfaces On Breitbart, Beck Sites

Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.) notified the Capitol Police Thursday after receiving threatening phone calls, after a video of her appearing to criticize the Tea Party was posted on several conservative websites, according to a release from her office.

The video was first posted to Breitbart TV, created by the late conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart, and then picked up by Glenn Beck's website, The Blaze.

The video shows Clarke speaking at a candidate forum organized by Prospect Heights Democrats for Reform.

"When I say dealing with the Tea Party, they came up in the hundreds of thousands. So we couldn’t walk outside of our office without tripping over Tea Party members. And these are individuals that had no problems with racial epithets, they had no problem with cursing, spitting and everything else, they came to intimidate members out of passing the Affordable Care Act," says Clarke in the video.

There's then a cut in the video, one of four in nearly two and a half minutes. "But the moment that they came in and really just showed the ugliest sides of the United States of America, you can imagine -- it was clear to me that we were doing the right thing for Americans."

Clarke, in her release, said she was referring to an incident during the health care reform debate where Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) said he had been spat on by a protester outside the Capitol, which Tea Party groups denied.

Clarke said her words were taken out of context, which she said was "extremely disappointing."

"I stand by my statement, and I will not be intimidated by those who use fear to make their point known. While I appreciate the calls from individuals who respectfully disagree with my remarks, we all have a responsibility to ensure that we change the dangerous discourse that can come from this hostile political environment."

Exactly. Her OWN words are much more of a "dangerous discourse", than ANY word I have EVER heard ANY member of the Tea Party utter.

Plus, she's an ELECTED official, paid by WE THE PEOPLE who must hold her to a higher standard.

She is not paid to LIE and MISREPRESENT any party, much less the Tea Party.

There is no tea party. And there never was one. There are just actors paid by the Koch brothers. I know I kept and framed the $20 they handed me for getting off the bus in D.C. ( It might have been for the event Rep Carke was talking about)

The threats and calls she is getting now come from a call center in South Asia that is majority ownedby Karl Rove. (look it up)

Not every wacko out there knows this. I do not believe the guy that shot Gabrielle Giffords was an upstanding Teaparty member, but rather a mentally unstable person who believed what the Teaparty was saying. Fear makes people do weird things (like passing Prop 8). I think she was right to notify the police because if she is attacked they can start looking for suspects who purchased X weapon and visited Y website, rather than think the only evidence is at the crime scene.

The tea party isn't really a "party" it is comprised of countless millions of Americans of every stripe, color and religion that have had enough of the heavy hand of government. They are regular people, who want to see less regulation and lower taxes plain and simple. When I lived in Indianapolis a few years ago I just happen to be amongst them at one of their little "gatherings" at the State House. There was not a person of color in the bunch. Easy. Stick with me here. When the Health Care bill was passed, The Tea Party rallied on the Capital. Harry Reid, could smell them remember? (thats the attitude that Washington has for its tax payers). Pelosi , had beaten the Tea Party, after wards she would attempt to destroy the movement. Pelosi, took the gavel ( an over sized one) and march with some African American congress persons through the middle of the tea party lines. Expecting to draw violent insults and confrontation. But that didn't happen. So she lied about it . Yet with all the cameras, microphones and cell phones nobody got that on tape. She was attempting to give the Party the old one two punch. My guess is that this woman is lying also.
