Our spy satellites have the ability to read a license plate from space.................We are told.

Why aren't we using that technology? I know of no more urgent need than the border issues.

Aside from the ethical and legal issues, who knows what Drone blowback will look like.

We taught the Taliban to use rocket launchers against the Soviets. And when you think about it the planes that flew into the World Trade Center were esentially "Taliban Drones."

it will be easier to extract money from Americans, there are building code infractions, parking tickets, speeding tickets.....all kinds of ways to make money to pay for the growing government

Anyone who has ever driven on I-10 in AZ and NM can see the low tech unmanned blimps that are used to patrol the borders. These blimps are far less expensive than drones and can stay up a lot longer time. Drones are an overkill on the border where there are no hostile forces who can shoot down the blimps.

The US would do more to protect itself if it would pull the troops out of the middle east and put on the border.

Inside the Beltway, the term is "controlling the operational space." It's a little Newspeaky, but if you sell unmanned vehicles, that's the key phrase that keeps the government is buying.

I am sorry, but what we need here small fully armed attack helicopters and lots of boots on the ground. There are many unemployed americans who could be trained to perform border security.
07:45 AM on 04/30/2012
The helicopters and soldiers will be here soon enough...but it won't be for border security!

Really? You mean the high price isn't part of the disappointment that our tax dollars pay for?
How about totally blowing foreign relations out of the water?
Or being pretty inaccurate?
I mean, obviously, if people don't have experience using them they're going to be bad - but come on - we have a social culture that is at least existent in the military - Gamers. Have them do it.

Congress has approved 30,000 drones to be used right here in the USA. You people better check and see what legislation has passed.
As we awake to the scam that is our government they are installing a police state to keep power.

We are in a race between the masses waking up and the ruling class installing their control grid.

the right has shown no problem with selling its freedom down the river to implement a right wing ideological victory - Bush's re-election after 9/11 and the absolutist demand to stop illegals.
