Large Bear Captured After Wandering Around Adams County Neighborhood (VIDEO)

WATCH: Bear Wanders Around Denver Neighborhood

A large brown bear that was wandering around a neighborhood near Federal Heights in Adams County Monday morning has been tranquilized and removed from the suburban neighborhood, 9News reports.

The bear was spotted hopping a fence and wandering around a neighborhood backyard near 84th Avenue and Shoshone Street in the early hours of Monday morning, according to 7News. Later, the bear was observed running down the neighborhood sidewalk as it was being tracked by wildlife authorities.

The unusually dry winter and spring could mean more bears head out of the mountains and into the city seeking food and water, CBS4 reports.

This is the second bear in less than a week that was spotted in a suburban area. Last Thursday, a bear was spotted wandering around Williams Village dorm on CU-Boulder campus, the CU Independent reported. The bear eventually climbed a tree and was tranquilized and relocated back to the forest.
