'The Good Wife' Season 4 Spoilers: Kalinda's Husband Poised To Heat Things Up

'The Good Wife' Season 4 SPOILERS!

"The Good Wife" Season 4 is still months away, but series co-creators Robert and Michelle King are already dishing out spoilers. Obviously, read on at your own risk.

Season 3 of "The Good Wife" ended with two cliffhangers: Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), gun locked and loaded, was sitting in darkness waiting for her oh-so-scary husband and Alicia (Julianna Margulies) was debating whether to join her family for pizza or go on home. (Yes, one cliffhanger sounds more pressing than the other, but if you've seen the pizza scene, you know how emotionally intense it was.)

While audiences have only heard Kalinda's dangerous former lover -- "Alicia Florrick." [click] -- he will be seen in Season 4.

"Yes, that is intended to be a long arc," Robert King told EW about the new character. "We’ve been wanting to do this since the second year, and we haven’t felt we had the right actor yet. So this is something we really want to see -- Kalinda's past life colliding with her newly firmed up friendship with Alicia."

Avid "Good Wife" fans will remember Kalinda's husband was first mentioned during that steamy hotel encounter with Blake, Kalinda and a baseball bat.

During a deposition, Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) revealed he and Alicia had separated. Look for that to cause some big trouble for Peter's gubernatorial campaign, according to the Kings, even if Alicia has been thinking of the past and her traditional family.

"I would say that Alicia is a little caught between whether to be Hillary Clinton -- meaning a woman who will make all the right efforts to get her husband elected because she believes in what he believes in -- and someone who isn’t sure whether what’s best for the kids is that she stay removed from the house," Robert said.

And what about Matthew Perry? The former "Friends" star told TVLine he hopes to return to the series even though his NBC comedy got a series order. The Kings are on that same page too.
