Cher Lloyd, 'Want U Back' Music Video: British Singer Releases Debut U.S. Single (VIDEO)

WATCH: Is Cher Lloyd The Next British Sensation?

Could British singer Cher Lloyd be the next big thing in America? Thanks to a huge marketing push from her label, L.A. Reid's Epic Records, Lloyd has released her first U.S. single, "Want U Back," and it sounds like an instant summer radio hit.

The 18-year-old shot to fame in the U.K. after appearing on Season 7 of "The X Factor." Lloyd made it to the final four before she was eliminated, but Simon Cowell quickly signed her to Syco, his label. She released her debut U.K. album, Sticks + Stones, in 2011, where it entered the charts at No. 1.

Lloyd's original video for the single -- her third in the U.K. -- featured U.S. "X Factor" contestant Astro. The video got an American revamp for its U.S. debut. Instead of Lloyd hanging out in her bedroom, now she's invading a small-town diner, wearing significantly less clothing and going to jail. What's more Americana than diners, skimpy outfits and jail? Oh, Hollywood!

The British songstress will hope to follow the footsteps of U.K. boy band The Wanted and British teen sensations One Direction, who have recently found success stateside.
