It's that time of year again! Actually, I'm not sure if "NFL cheerleader auditions" is an officially recognized time of year yet. If it wasn't before this comprehensive list of hotness, it certainly will be moving forward.

There are still a few squads that haven't held their auditions yet—notably the Cowboys and Falcons—but most of them are complete, which means that there is an overabundance of photos featuring hot broads in booty shorts and sports bras floating around the Internet.

Tuesday Morning Quarterback Gregg Easterbrook wrote a nice bit on how the NFL exploits cheerleaders. The NFL is a billion dollar industry, yet some cheerleaders are paid as low as $100 a game. They don't have subsidiary rights to their images, which are used by the NFL in everything from ads to calendars. Practices and other commitments take a lot of these ladies' time, who are professionals and mothers in their other life. NFL needs to pay up.

This exploitation is tragic ! I will form an NFL Cheerleaders Union. Two NFL cheerleaders (of my choosing) from each team will report to my pool in uniform on July 4 for this important dialouge . . . pending my spouses approval.

Nothing against cheerleaders, but if they have cheerleaders at games, why not marching bands? It sure beats the same techno/hip hop/ and rock song over and over again on the crackling loudspeaker. Plus, can we as a nation decide to write and sing a bunch of team songs like they do for soccer. I'm all about that.

Too sanitised. We should go back to the old tradition: Women cheer their menfolk on the battlefield, hurling insults at the other side. When the men are victorious, the women proceed to go onto the battlefield and despoil and finish off the surviving wounded losers, desecrating the corpses of the slain opponents. Victorious home-team warriors are rewarded with sex.
They really knew how to party back then, when cheerleading actually MEANT something.

Pathetic. Fake boobs and up-skirt peeks to titillate the masses in the gaps between the "real" sport. What's next? Cheerleading close enough to the fans so they can put bills in their cleavage? And this is the sporting option for women?

WHy do we even have cheerleaders? I have been to many NFL games and have a lot of fond memories... none of them involve the cheerleaders on the sidelines.

Going to an NFL game for the cheerleaders is like going to the strip club for the buffet... or the music.
