It's official: Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are getting their sleuth on.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the rumor that the longtime friends will star in HBO's cop drama "True Detective." Season 1 will cover a 17-year time period as Rust Cohle (McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Harrelson) come together to hunt down a serial killer in Louisiana.
Aside from a recent guest role on "Eastbound & Down," this will be McConaughey's first big small-screen role, while Harrelson is back after his co-starring role in HBO's film "Game Change" and stint as the lovable Woody Boyd on "Cheers."
