NYC Pride's Dance On The Pier And Rapture On The River To Be Moved To Pier 57

Two Beloved NYC Pride Traditions Will Get A New Home

Two beloved New York City Pride traditions will get a new home this year.

The Hudson River Park's Pier 57 will now host the Dance on the Pier and Rapture on the River events after their previous home, Pier 54, was deemed structurally unsound during an annual environmental review, Heritage of Pride announced in a press release.

As it turns out, the enclosed Pier 57 will have additional benefits as well, allowing both events to take place regardless of weather conditions.

"We believe this will usher in a new era for these events," NYC Pride's Managing Director Chris Frederick said in a statement. "The space is significantly larger, which will allow for easier access to bars, restrooms, and social spaces. It is our intention to create an entirely new experience for our attendees. Considering these two events represent more than half of our annual fundraising efforts, their continued success and appeal has become the organization’s primaryfocus for the year."

Tickets for Rapture on the River and the Dance on the Pier go on sale Friday, May 4 and can be purchased online.

They can also be found at Village Apothecary in Manhattan's West Village and Delphinium Home in Hells Kitchen.
