"I'm coming back. Write it down in big letters. I'm not going out like this." - Mariano Rivera to reporters today.

Despite fears that all-time leader in saves would never again throw his signature cutter in a Major League game, Rivera has vowed to rehab from his injury and return. Aside from just addressing reporters, Rivera also took his message to Twitter.

Mariano Rivera
Thank you fans, friends and family for your prayers, well wishes and support. I will be ok. I will be back.

At age 42, the task ahead is daunting but the sure-fire Hall of Famer who has consistently excelled under pressure seems to be beginning his journey back to the mound with confidence and determination.

Can he make it back? Given his age and his accomplishments, is there any reason for him to push it?
