Poll Position: Do Separatist Policies Benefit Or Harm The LGBT Community? Vote Now! (POLL)

Another Friday, another Poll Position and your chance to sound off on a topic facing the LGBT community.

This week's question is inspired by a curious story out of Denmark.

As we reported earlier this week, a gay bar in Copenhagen has instituted a new policy that forbids straight people from kissing while on its premises.

The owner of the bar, Never Mind, told the Copenhagen Post that he didn't see the "big problem" in his establishment's policy. "I know that we need equal rights, but this is a gay bar," Christian Carlsen is quoted as saying. “We obviously have a lot of guests who aren’t homosexuals and that’s fine as long as they understand that this is a gay bar. The gays can’t go to so many other places to meet each other."

But others aren't so happy with policy and claim that this kind of behavior sends the wrong message and ultimately works against gaining acceptance and equality for LGBT people.

So, what do you think? Should LGBT people have venues to meet and enjoy each other's company that are entirely separate from straight people or that enforce rules like the one at Never Mind? Or should LGBT people be open and accepting and invite straight people in their establishments?

Vote and then sound off in the comments section below.
