Cardboard Comfort?: New Recyclable Paperpedic Bed

Cardboard Comfort?: New Recyclable Paperpedic Bed

It seems that the initiative for green products is all over these days -- everywhere from our water bottles to our thermostats. Now there’s even a green bed named the Paperpedic, a 100 percent recyclable cardboard bed.

The Paperpedic is made by Australia-based Karton Group, which offers an entire line of cardboard furniture. Though many might dismiss the strength of a bed made of cardboard, Karton claims that the strong cardboard base can hold up to 10 people, or a little under a ton. But a new video released by Karton shows that they may have underestimated the power of the Paperpedic. In the video, the bed is able to hold 22 people, or a little under two tons.

The bed can be outfitted with cardboard drawers (sold separately) and can easily be morphed from a single bed to a double, queen or king-sized bed in a matter of minutes. Karton even offers a cardboard bedside table.
