Christopher Hecker, Virginia Man, Charged With Threatening To Kill President Barack Obama

Christopher Hecker of Waynesboro, Va., has been charged with threatening to kill President Barack Obama after being arrested on Thursday, the Associated Press reports.

From the AP:

A criminal complaint filed in federal court in Harrisonburg said Christopher Hecker of Waynesboro made death threats against the president and threatened to bomb the White House, hotels and other places, including Philadelphia City Hall and the site of the former World Trade Center. An affidavit said the threats were emailed to various media outlets.

The Harrisonburg Daily News-Record reports on the content of one of the emails, sent last month to Turner Corp., the parent company of CNN.

"I sent a bomb threat to the White House today and to several radio stations," Hecker wrote. "Sooner or later I will grab someone, maybe in the woods, on the trail, and beat the life out of them."

Continued Hecker: "[Obama] is the one that is destroying patriotism in the U.S.A. Ted Nugent is right. So, Obama is allowing me to be tortured to the point that I may murder someone, rather than deal with the mess he made. Your president is a coward."

Secret Service agents arrested Hecker outside the Waynesboro Public Library after exchanging emails with him and determining that he'd been regularly logging on to one of the facility's computers.

At his hearing on Friday, Hecker said he intended to plead no contest and wanted to be sentenced to the death penalty immediately. A judge later ordered him to undergo a psychological evaluation.

Why am I not shocked that he believes Ted Nugent?
Also, the whole "give me the death penalty" thing for threatening the president thing is downright laughable.

What you saw with the motorcycle pulling up to the car with the Obama sticker is terrible. It would be interesting to know how often this happens. Thanks to Palin and all those who have created such a volatile society.

And you are right about McVeigh.

I don't know why, but your comment to me was pulled, so I am replying here.

It's a shame the legislature hasn't passed a job's bill so Mr. Hecker could afford his own computer. Instead, he was using one of the many free computer's available at public library's across the country provided by local tax payers.

The real problem with those opposing President Obama is that all these morons who think USA should be lead only by a conservative, white religious extremist, cannot comprehend the fact that an African American man had been elected to lead this nation instead. Although such idiots may be a very small minority, can be a real danger to the administration and the American public in general because of their deranged state of minds - and such threats need to be taken very seriously and they must be punished severely.
